ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ronald Montgomery Ronald Montgomery is a Saint Louis native who began at an early age to expand his world beyond these Missouri boundaries.  Shaking off the formative influence of living in the heartland is improbable and undesirable.  He has simply added bushel baskets of experiences, friends and extended family. He is still a native Saint Louisan, but he now claims the seven continents, and myriad islands as the places where his "world family" resides.

At the father of two, he began collecting thoughts that he anticipated sharing with his children.  Pieces that began as short stories and reminders written on napkins and matchbooks turned into books of poetry. With the support and encouragement of his children, the audience has broadened to include a broad spectrum of readers.

He is an observer and frequently a participant in his poetry.  His lines capture poignant events conjured up by life. His style of writing, much like a camera, captures the emotions - tragedies and joys of living - as single events in time. Through his lens, he has a clear view of life’s stage. His is a talent heralded by many as the most imaginative and perceptive since Nikki Giovanni.
